Alumni day for the Baseball game! My mentor Shane already informed me that I have to take some pictures of the Alumnus Baseball players with the game shots. Today there were two matches between Tiffin and Davenport. First game Dragons lost to Davenport for 4-2, but Tiffin Dragons came back in the second game against Panthers for 5-1. After covering lot games, my skill in photography improved a lot better than earlier. And it was officially my last day of internship, so after the game, I met each member of our sports information team and said thanks for their support and guidance that they provided me during the work. After the game, I got back to home, and I send the images to my mentor. Today I felt that I was really a part of a great team and within a short period I learned and experienced so many important things from my past intern days.

It was senior day game for Tiffin Lacrosse team and last lacrosse game that I covered for my internship. The game began at 5 in the afternoon, and I reached at the stadium half hour early in the game. As usual, I was responsible for getting some good shots with my camera for the game story. Luckily, the weather was not that bad today, which helped me to stand outside and focus more on my photography to get some good pictures. There was enough sunlight for the first-half of the game, but in the second half, I faced little difficulty with the light because the sun was out for the day. But still, I managed it by adjusting the light settings in the camera. Anyway, today Tiffin Dragons had a big win over the Concordia St. Paul for 20-11. It was an exciting game, and I was thrilled with the Dragon's performance. Today I really enjoyed clicking pictures of the game, and after the match, Shane dropped me at my place. Then I sat with my laptop and started editing the images for the game story and send those selected once to my mentor Shane.
Today I was assigned to be an official photographer for the Green and Gold Award ceremony which is an annual event for the University. My mentor has already given me the instruction for what he wants me to concentrate and cover mainly. It was two hour job for me today. My mentor needs those pictures as soon as possible after the event, so I came home and started working with the photos, and I send some good once to him as quick as possible. Today I was assigned to take pictures of the E-sport official ribbon-cutting ceremony. Our university's E-sport arena officially inaugurated today. My mentor gave me the instructions what to cover at the event. I am assigned the responsibility to take interior pictures of the E-sport arena and also need to include the images of the speakers who came for the ceremony. It was just one hour work for me, after clicking those pictures I went home and selected and edited some photos and send those to Shane for the website story. NEXT : SPRING GAMESecond photographer role for the day! After covering the E-sport ceremony, I had to work for the spring football game. Today it was the Green and Gold game. Today I was worked in multiple areas for the game. I reached at the stadium an hour earlier to the game time and started assisting with broadcasting. For the first half of the game, I was assigned to handle the video camera and the second-half of the game I took the role of photographer. Once I have done with work and got back home, I felt like it was a long day for me.
Two games back-to-back of Softball games stated at 1 P.M. today. It was a bright sunny day out, and the weather was beautiful for the photography. A lot of people actually came out of their homes today for the match due to the nice weather. After the match was over, I sent the edited pictures to Shane, and I am also sharing a few of them here on this blog! Today, I had to cover two games that were to be played at almost similar times at two different spots but same location which was Paradiso Stadium. Baseball started at 1 P.M., and Softball began at 3 P.M., and I was given instructions to cover both the games. My focus was first to cover the Baseball game as much as I could in the first two hours as after that I had to go to the other location where Softball was being played. It was a little hectic for me, but still, it is fine because I got some really good pictures, that Shane liked a lot when he saw them. He appreciated the efforts that I put towards every game. After I came home, I gave Softball pictures to Shane, and Baseball pictures to Matthew as he had to make online stories for the website too. After sending them the pictures, I was so tired that I slept on my couch!
Today, I had to do a different task that did not involve any photography and video recordings. Shane called me this morning and explained me the situation that he does not have an assistant today to work for the statistics of the game to be played, and asked me if I could help him with this task. I immediately said yes, as I am always curious to learn new things about the games. Once we got there he explained me the process of how to record the statistics of the game, and then I had to take those statistics results to the team coaches in breaks, half- times, and after the game so that they can have a bright idea of how the game is going on the ground. After the game was over, Shane took care of the data and then dropped me home. It was an easy and exciting day of work for me!
A nice sunny day out there for covering another baseball match today against Timberwolves again. But I am afraid; the day was not nice anymore as wind added its flavor to the sun, making it a frigid day for having photographs. The game started in favor of Northwood University with a great lead, and unfortunately, Dragons could not beat the score set up by the Timberwolves, and we lost again! Anyhow, my work was to get pictures done, I got my work done on time. I put some of the pictures as a slideshow with this blog, and Shane appreciated me today a lot for taking some awesome pictures. Good night!
Finals week is approaching, and I had a game to cover today which was a baseball game, and it was to be played between Tiffin University and Northwood University. The match started at 4 PM., and Shane picked me up to take me to the location for the photographs. It was a long day as the game went through 9 innings. Dragons lost the game by two runs, but it was a pretty tough match as both the teams were strong. After the game was over, Shane dropped me home, and I selected some good pictures from all the images that I took, edited them, and then gave to Shane!
Cold, cold, and cold! Another cold day and I had a women's softball game to cover today. The game stated at 3 P.M. and I was there on time. Since it was a postponed game from the earlier schedule, I was told to get some nice pictures only. I have covered a few softball matches already in the past, so I had an idea of how and where to take good angles for the pictures. It was a little tough for me to get exact shots as it was too windy outside. But I managed to take some nice ones. Te same teams had two continuous games with a break of around 25 minutes. We were done by 6 P.M., and by 7 P.M., I sent some edited pictures to Shane for the website purpose! |
